Unlike PAN, GSTIN changes with business in each state. To know the details of taxpayer select GSTIN against respective state.

5. Points to remember
  • Unless the "Taxpayer Type" is "Regular" and "GSTIN/UIN Status" is "Active", he is not authorised to charge GST though he is registered under GST.
  •  Sometimes the portal may not show any records due to technical glitches, then cross verify the functioning of portal using known GSTIN (Use GSTIN of known companies that are available online).
  • If you have reasons to believe that the person is issuing fake GST bills after following the above process then you can report to Directorate General of Goods & Services Tax Intelligence (DGGSTI) by contacting 011-26174191 or add-dgcei@nic.in or by submitting form at https://cbic-gst.gov.in/report-tax-fraud.html. (Get rewarded without any fear. Your identity including name and address will be kept absolutely confidential.)
